Next Podcast will be March 1st

Greetings everyone. Well I recently returned from the 2009 TIME/TMEA conference that was held in San Antonio, Texas. It was a terrific conference as always. But needless to say, I’m a little behind in school preps and other duties. I will attempt to post the next “Music Tech for ME” podcast on March 1st. Thanks for understanding and I look forward to getting the next show out in a couple of weeks. Blessings!

New Issues the MTforME Podcast

Well… yet again another tech issue with the site and podcast. As you may have seen from mustech.net, there are some issues with the new version of WordPress and the Podpress plugin. The problem has prevented my latest podcast show (August 1, 2008 Episode #32) from being uploaded. I hear that the problems are being resolved and there should be a resolution this week. So for now, keep checking with the site and with iTunes for the next episode and I will keep you posted as soon as I know things are up and running. Blessings!

Free Online Jazz Arranging Course

Garritan is offering a free online jazz arranging course. Using the Garritan Jazz and Big Band sample library, the course is based on the online interactive edition of Chuck Israel’s book Exploring Jazz Arranging. According to the site, there are presently 6 of the 20 lessons already available for study. There are numerous notation examples which are supported by audio excerpts. This is a must check-out site for anyone interested in learning the art of jazz arranging. I’m sure once you start the course, you will make a donation or pre-order a hardcopy of the book which will include additional material along with the entire course on DVD.
