Music Tech for ME 2007.09.015-#012

Welcome to episode #12 of Music Tech for ME. Did you ever think, that there would be a day, that you could sit at home and have a music lesson with a teacher who was not physically (in person) in the room with you? Well guess what…. that day has arrived! For this week’s episode, I interviewed Carol Johnson. Carol is the founder and creator of “The Virtual School of Music”. The school is an online source for live music instruction. They provide one-to-one music instruction for various musical instruments. They also provide individual classes in music theory, jazz improvisation, music education courses for music teachers, and their new College Prep Programs. Carol and I chat about the ins and outs of providing music instruction online. What are your thoughts on providing “Online” music instruction? Let me know what you think about his week’s topic by providing a post or sending me an email. Blessings!

Music Tech for ME 2007.09.01-#011

Welcome to episode #11 of Music Tech for ME. This week’s show contains some brief news about yet another updated version of a music notation program. This latest update comes for the program “Notion”. As soon as I can find a contact person from Notion Music, I hope to provide you with another interview so we can hear about the new features. Also on this week’s show, I will share with you a couple of personal technology experiences that I think you will find of interest. The first story deals with upgrading one of the school’s Audio/Midi labs, and the second story is about my experience using a wireless internet router from home. So download this episode and load it into your favorite mp3 player. Afterwards, drop me post or email and let me hear your thoughts about this week’s show or anything else you think would be of interest to other music educators. Blessings!
