Welcome to episode #51 of Music Tech for ME. This week, I give a brief overview of two “Web 2.0″ based music applications. With the assistance of a computer, internet connection, and a web browser, you can have access to a “Free” music notation program and a “DAW”. Check these out and let me know what you think. Great podcast! I think it’s worth mentioning that there are also some great web applications out there that cover the administrative side of things as well. I have used www (dot)ututti(dot)com to great success in my school district, and its a fairly new website.

This is a great podcast. Right now in our music tech. class at Grove City College, Dr. Pisano is teaching us all about Web 2.0 technology. I checked out both of these sights and they are very neat. More ideas to add to the list of helpful items for teaching and for furthering my own education. Can’t wait to try them out! Thanks for posting.

It is amazing how many things are out there to use, free at our disposal, that we never hear about. Thanks for taking to time to educate a future music teacher about these sites. I looked at both of them, and I think that they are really great. The free notation application is great for college students such as myself who don’t have enough money to purchase finale or sibelius. Awesome podcast!

web 2.0 is quickly becoming a viable often free resource that is very helpful when it comes to music education and education in general.
there are many other schedule resources available from the web 2.0 spectrum and they make scheduling for rehearsals and performances much easier.
its great to see where the web 2.0 phenomenon will take us and what we will be able to do in the future.

Interesting podcast! Thanks! In my music tech class we have been talking a lot about web 2.0 programs. It was interesting to hear about some of the great programs that you have found! I have not used either but I will be looking into them. Thanks again!

It’s mindblowing that there are so many resources out there for us musicians and music educators to use! Noteflight seems like a fantastic way to create and publish your own music without having to purchase expensive software like Sibelius. And Indaba seems like a great way to be able to communicate with other artists and advertise your own skills. Thanks for sharing!

It’s so cool how we have so many resources that are free for us to use. Many of the Web 2.0 applications and programs will be a great help when I become a music Educator. This podcast was very interesting. I can’t wait to try the programs you talked about. I believe they will be very beneficial in my future.
